NICHOLLS & CLARKE
A landmark anniversary film celebrating 150 years of one of the UK's longest-standing building materials groups.
The Challenge
Nicholls & Clarke were approaching their 150th year in business - a milestone very few companies reach. They needed a film that honoured their heritage, paid tribute to the people who built the business, and positioned N&C as a modern, forward-looking group. The brief required balancing nostalgia with ambition, and the film needed to resonate with staff, customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
The Approach
We took a documentary-led approach, conducting interviews with long-serving staff and leadership to uncover the real stories behind the brand. Archive material was woven alongside contemporary footage of their operations, people and products. The narrative was structured around resilience, craft and people - showing how a 150-year-old business stays relevant by investing in its team and adapting to change. Pre-production was thorough: we shaped the story before the shoot, ensuring every interview and visual beat earned its place.
The Result
The finished film became a centrepiece of their anniversary celebrations and internal communications. It was praised by senior leadership for capturing the spirit of the business. The project cemented an ongoing partnership - Nicholls & Clarke became a retained client, with Sizzle Studios delivering regular content across the group's brands and divisions.
Deliverables
- Hero anniversary film
- Shorter cutdowns for internal and social use
